WATCH VIDEO! The Silk Street Hot Seven is the hippest jazz band on the scene and its energetic music creates an informal and relaxed atmosphere, making it the prime choice for your special event, whether it is an informal garden party, a wedding, or a high profile corporate party. The band's credits include performances for a host of well-known names including Gordon Ramsay, Robert E Smith (The Cure) and an appearance at Buckingham Palace.

Formed in 2003, the ensemble contains today's up-and-coming players, all of whom continue to revitalise the scene with their flair, excitement and enthusiasm. Their ability to acknowledge and reflect on the past but to create a contemporary sound is why Silk Street is one of the pre-eminent bands on the circuit today.  The band has made appearances at many prestigious venues across the UK, including Hampton Court, Kew Gardens and City Hall to name but a few.

With 6 different line-up options, from a duo to a 7-piece, and with the larger line-ups including a male singer, Silk Street provides the perfect background or foreground atmosphere for any event, no matter how big or small. Also, with the unusual ability to play as an acoustic wandering act, the band really is able to perform anywhere for anyone. The band recently released its debut CD "Big Feet" to great success.

Silk Street Music is the primary booking agent for the Silk Street Hot Seven. You will not find the band at a lower cost anywhere else, even through the band's own website.

Instrumentation & Prices:

The Silk Street Hot Seven offers many line-up variations in order to accommodate all venue sizes, budgets and events:

  • 7 Piece - Full Band £1149+
  • 6 Piece - Cornet, Clarinet, Trombone, Banjo, Sousa, Drums £1049+
  • 5 Piece - Cornet, Clarinet, Banjo, Sousa, Drums £899+

  • 4 Piece - (option 2) Cornet, Clarinet, Banjo, Sousa £749+
  • 3 Piece - Clarinet, Banjo, Sousa £599+
  • 2 Piece - Clarinet or Trumpet or Trombone and Guitar £399+

The Silk Street Six and Seven piece bands now include the sound of a fantastic male singer. These are the perfect ensembles for those wanting to enhance the group by the addition of the sophisticated sound of the jazz singer. The band also offers music for dancing. In this case, use of the drums is quite important and so we would advise a minimum 4-piece line up consisting of Clarinet/Trumpet/Saxophone or Trombone, Banjo, Sousaphone, Drums. More front line instruments can be added to build up the sound.

Silk Street also offers a new duo option for those on a tighter budget. All instrumental players are able to stroll apart from the drummer. A minimum 3-piece line up of a single horn, Banjo, Sousaphone is advisable. More front line instruments can be added to create a larger more prominent sound. The band also has ideal line-ups for background music. i.e. 3-piece or 4-pieces offer perfect combinations where swapping the drums in the 4-piece for another horn is advisable. This choice is well suited to wedding receptions.

For those on a tighter budget but still wanting the ‘big’ sound, the 5-piece ensemble maintains the authentic sound of the Hot Seven as it uses 2 front line instruments.

The 7-piece or 6-piece band has a large sound so depending on the size of the performance space, this is the perfect ensemble for creating a timeless impression.
